Statement
There are a few themes that I recognise throughout my practice, they are, collections, chance and serendipity, and the 'everyday'. My process of working is one of immediacy, with playful undertones, evident throughout my practice.
I graduated from Norwich University College of the Arts with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art in 2010. I have a studio in Norwich where I have made a return to painting. I have a playful relationship with acrylic paint, continually experimenting with this colored medium that I sculpt, pipe, spread, peel, cut and collage. The result is 'paintings' that can be handled and viewed as object and are often temporary compositions. This idea has been developed further by using the frame as a starting point and the glass as canvas, creating paintings with a high gloss finish.
I also spend time out and about observing the everyday and making other work from 'random' incidents i notice, chance and serendipity being key themes in this work. One ongoing project, or 'collection' I have is of recording bizzare 'sightings' in real time via my Twitter feed which you can find a link to on my 'links' page.
